On August 5, 2012, Wade M. Page, an apparent white supremacist, opened fire on the members of the Sikh community in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, during their Sunday service. Page killed six innocent people and wounded three before the police shot him dead.

Religious Freedom USA is deeply shocked, saddened, and frustrated by the Wisconsin attack. We grieve for the victims of this senseless act of violence and include them and their families in our prayers.

Similarly, we are deeply concerned about the arson attack on a mosque in Missouri yesterday, which was found burnt to the ground.  Religious Freedom USA was founded on the principle that no American, regardless of their faith or philosophy, should be afraid to worship openly, identify publicly, and live freely.  To this end, we won’t tire in defending the core American value of advocating for religious freedom in writ and practice.  We pray that this can be the beginning of the end of religious bigotry and violence in America.
