WESTBURY, N.Y. — New York organizations are making an early rebuttal before another hearing by Congressman Peter King, who’s focusing on what he calls the radicalization of the Muslim-American community.
King has announced plans for a Wednesday hearing in Washington on what he calls Muslim-American radicalization in U.S. prisons.
A coalition of civil rights, religious and interfaith groups planned to hold a community meeting Tuesday.
The coalition says it seeks to promote diversity and tolerance. Members say they want to counter discrimination based on religion or ethnicity.
