UPDATED INFORMATION: SEPTEMBER 12 LIBERTY WALK
Dear Supporters of Religious Freedom:
We are only nine days away from the Liberty Walk, which will be held on September 12, starting at 3:00 in St. Peter’s Church in Lower Manhattan! We have confirmed Dr. Katherine Henderson, President of Auburn Theological Seminary, and Rabbi Jeremy Kalmanofsky of Congregation Ansche Chesed as keynote speakers, along with Father Kevin Madigan from St. Peter’s Church, who will be delivering a welcome address.
We also have invited Mayor Michael Bloomberg to take part in the event, whom we hope will take time out of his busy schedule to join us. We will also have other religious leaders, 9/11 family members, and civic leaders join in addressing us and walking beside us. Please be sure to confirm your attendance on Facebook and invite your friends! We also encourage you to forward this message to as many friends and colleagues as you can.
Schedule:
2:30 – Begin gathering at St. Peter’s Church (22 Barclay Street in Lower Manhattan)
3pm – Speakers will address and rally participants at St Peter’s Church
4:30pm – We will walk together around World Trade Center, stopping to commemorate those who died because of their American identity and values
5:30pm – We will conclude the walk at Park51 (51 Park Place)
Reminder: Please do not bring any signs on at the Liberty Walk. Rather, we ask that you bring American flags to show support for religious freedom in America.
Thank you so much in advance for your participation! We look forward to seeing you on September 12!
Best Regards,
Joshua Stanton and Frank Fredericks
Co-Directors of Religious Freedom USA
